Maya® 2017 software includes new features and artist-friendly tools such as Arnold in Maya, Time Editor, Bifrost Ocean Simulation System, and Interactive hair grooming (XGen).

Maya 2017 for Motion Graphics

3D Type

Create branding, flying logos, title sequences, and other projects that require text with the 3D Type tool. It lets you easily create editable, nondestructive, multiline, deformable type.

3D Type offers full control over the appearance of text, including precise control over bevel and extrusion profiles. Animate by character, word, or line.

Improved vector graphics workflow

Maya software now offers enhanced SVG file support, making it easier to work with vector-based 2D design applications. Import or copy and paste vector graphics from 2D design software, such as Adobe Illustrator, into Maya. Then use a new workflow, similar to 3D Type, which includes the ability to extrude, bevel, animate, and extend vector graphics.

Motion Graphics toolset

Easily create beautiful effects and animations with instanced objects. This new toolset is based on the MASH procedural animation toolset, and is fully integrated into Maya. It includes a set of nodes that you can combine in many ways to create custom animations.
